State of North Carolina No. 115 To all to whom these presents shall come greeting Know ye that we for and inconsideration of the sum of fifty shillings for every hundred acres hereby granted paid into our Treasury by John Webb have given and granted and by these presents do give and grant unto the Sd John Webb a Tract of Land Containing five hundred and fifty and a half acres Lying and being in our County of Washington on the South side of Indian Creek beginning at two Black oaks on the river Bank and from thence North Thirty degrees West one hundred and forty poles down the Several Meanders of the River to a Linn tree in the fork of Indian Creek thence North Sixty Seven degrees east three hundred and Sixty four poles up the Several Meanders of Indian Creek to a white oak and black oak corner to Edmond Sams thence South forty Seven degrees East one hundred and fifty poles along Culbersons Line to a white oak and from thence South Six? Degrees West one hundred and fifty six poles along the foot of the Iron Mountain to two sourwoods thence west three hundred and Sixty poles to the first corner as by the plat hereunto annexed doth appear together with all wood waters mines minerals hereditaments and appurtenances to the said land belonging or appertaining to hold to the said John Webb his heirs and assigns forever yeilding and paying to us such sums of money yearly or otherwise as our general assembly from time to time may direct provided alwas that the said John Webb shall cause this Grant to be registered in the registers Office of our said County of Washington within twelve Months from the date otherwise the same shall be Void and of no effect In testimony whereof we have caused our grate seal to be hereunto affixed Witness Alexander Martin Esquire our Govenor Captain General and Commander in chief at Fairfield the twenty fourth day of october in the Seventh year of our independence and In the Year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and Eighty Two by his Excelly's Com'd
