Have you ordered a "mint" Cherished Teddy by mail that was faded or did not meet your definition of mint? I have. Have you ever seen a piece for a great price and wondered if something was wrong with it? I have. I think we need to have a system that more accurately defines the quality of a Cherished Teddy. Here is my first attempt to define a more accurate system:

|---|---|
| M1 | Factory mint. Never removed from plastic wrapper. Never displayed. |
| M2 | Removed from wrapper. Never displayed. |
| M3 | Displayed for short time. No discernable color fading. |
| VG | Overall very good condition. Very light fading. |
| G | Some fading but still nice. |
