Trivia: Figurine Variations

Figurine Variations

Some figurines have significant variations. These variations are usually identified by different color paint. Sometimes, Enesco makes a new mold for the figurine variation, along with painting using different colors. One variation is usually the regularly released piece, and the other variation is usually a catalog exclusive or international version of the piece (or Enesco having fun with variations). Collectors often enjoy getting the variations of the pieces, especially since the variation usually ends up being worth more that the original release of the piece.

The pieces listed here are actual released pieces. The Enesco catalog often contains pictures of the prototype version of figurines, and the colors used in the prototype sometimes change prior to the general release of the figurine. The figurines with variations that are listed below were released to the public as variations. Prototype Variations are listed on this website in the "Errors" section. • TwoBearsOnBench - This piece, which was released during a special national event during 1996, was the very first Cherished Teddies error piece. The benches were connected to the grass during production, and some of the benches were connected backwards, resulting in the flowers on the grass ending up in the back of the figurine, instead of the front.
