Safety Features:
- The Charge Button must be held in the depress position for 15 to 30
seconds for the firing capacitor to reach full potential.
- Release of the Charge Button automatically discharges the capacitor,
internally removes the power from the arming circuit, and shunts the capacitor.
- Depressing the Firing Button discharges the capacitor to the firing
terminals.
- Both the Charge and Firing Button must be in the
depressed position to provide energy to the firing terminals.
- An indicator light provides visual condition of the capacitor during the charging phase.
- Blinking - charging. Will fire one (1) electric blasting cap.
- Steady - fully charged. Will fire 50 electric blasting caps in series.
Operation:
- Unscrew the red plug and place a fresh "AA" battery in the battery
compartment. The positive end of the "AA" is up and in contact with the red
plug.
- Screw the red plug back in place, assuring the "O" ring seal is depressed and
the internal spring is in contact with the battery.
- Check the battery connection, battery, and indicator light by pressing both the charging
button and the firing button simultaneously. The indicator light should blink. For any
failure, check your connections or replace your battery.
- Check the continuity of firing wire and electric blasting cap. A Wizard DSL
continuity tester is recommended.
- Connect the firing circuit to the firing terminals of the Wizard50 only
when ready to initiate.
- Depress and hold the charging button. The indicator light will start blinking in
approximately 6 to 15 seconds, to signify charging of the capacitor.
- The blinking light will become steady in approximately 20 to 30 seconds, to signify a
full charge on the capacitor.
- While keeping the charge button depressed, press down on the firing button when ready to
fire. This will release the capacitors energy into the firing terminals and initiate the
electric blasting caps.
- Prior to firing, release of the charging button will return the Wizard50
to a safe condition.
