Taurus Tracker III, view from the rear showing T-mount threads.
It's a little dusty, because the last time I had it out was in the field.
Consider it a gift of genuine Mojave desert dust. :)
The viewfinder port is on top and the guider port is to the right.
This is the older style, smaller diameter focal reducer in the custom cell that I made out of heavy cardboard stock.
Er, the cardboard is the red-colored stuff...the gray is the reducer cell that came
with the Tracker III and is designed to fit the newer style, larger diameter focal reducer.
Since I'm an optical engineer, I suppose you could say this is a professional lens mount.
Two views of the inside of the OAG (from the front where I had removed the focal reducer cell).
Top with viewfinder port out of the way (like if you were making an exposure), and bottom with
viewfinder in the light path (as if you were framing and focusing).
This shows the original guider port that came with the OAG.
When I switched to autoguiding with an ST-4, I found it was too short to bring the ST-4 to focus.
I called up Taurus Tech and pretty soon they were shipping me the part I needed (which is installed on
the OAG behind this one in the picture).
This shows the Meade 9mm Illuminated Reticle Eyepiece that I used for manual guiding,
focusing, polar alignment, and all sorts of stuff when I still owned my LX90.
Very handy to have, in my opinion. Since moving on to my new scope, I haven't needed this.
Plossl!
