She came to us…

Director's Corner by Donna Randolph

She came to us to take a pregnancy test.  On the information sheet that she filled out prior to her visit, she circled that she was planning on having an abortion if the test was positive.  Red flag, we knew we must begin praying.  Outside the window I could see her boyfriend waiting in the car.

Her test results were positive.  She was very early in her pregnancy, really too early for the sonogram to show an untrained eye that another life was growing inside of her.  She wasn’t in a hurry to leave the clinic, allowing us to talk to her about the risks involved.  Twenty one years old and already she’d had a prior abortion.  In our visit, we found out that she didn’t really know much about the Bible or God.  She’d grown up in a split home where these subjects weren’t really discussed.

I told her that we were already praying for her and her child as we gave her one of the PCC Bibles to take home with her.  Uncertainty flooded her eyes as she took all the information in.  She seemed receptive to the idea of coming back for an ultrasound at a later date, before she made the final decision.  A week later, one of our volunteers thought that her number had been disconnected.  No Lord, I cried, please no.  Two days later as I was entering data in the computer, I decided to try that telephone number.  She answered the phone.  We visited and she told me she was doing okay, and that she had decided to keep the baby!  Thank you Jesus!

We scheduled her for an ultrasound and I am so excited to share with you this news!  Travis and I saw the sheer elation evident on mom and dad’s face as they saw their little one moving all over the screen, the little hand waving at the parents.  Answered prayer wins again.  This actually happened in December last year, seems like there is always a baby whose life is saved in this month.  A precious gift made possible by your continued giving to us.  Blessings are like that aren’t they?  They come back to you!  Thank you and may God bless you.

Kudos ...

The outside of the Pregnancy Care Center Building has a new coat of paint courtesy of the following volunteers: John Knecht , Paul Mantz, Dave & Melody Adair, John Van Guilder and Jon Riddick. We are grateful for your time and talents to our cause.

The front yard of the PCC has been trimmed, mowed and decorated by Mike Neel and his family. The river rocks give a cooling and retreat effect to the front of the house. Please drive by and see our new, fresh look.

The Presbyterian Church hosted a Christmas Dinner last December and invited 25 of our clients. Thank you for including them in the festivities.

We are also grateful to Saint Ann Church for the use of their printing and folding machines to help in the production of this newsletter.

Mother’s Day & Baby Bottles

Our new shipment of baby bottles has arrived just in time for Mother’s Day!  We have cute baby bottles that are used to collect spare change. (Also great for folding money.) This spare change then turns into generous donations for the Pregnancy Care Center . The baby bottles are available for all churches who would like to participate. Just give us a call with a count of how many baby bottles you would like and we’ll deliver. The PCC phone number is 384-2273.
