What is emulation?

Emulation is a process done through programs called emulators. Emulators mimic hardware allowing a user to run software designed for one machine (ie: wintell box) on another very different machine (ie: Macintosh). The hardware that is found within wintell machines is different from that found inside Macintosh computers. A windows emulator on the Macintosh does the job of the intel-type processor with software allowing mac users to run windows on their machines without the required hardware. Many emulators can be found for the macintosh but this page will likely only have links and information on emulators relating to games.
