Trona History House - Living Room & Music Room
When construction of the town of Trona began in 1914, the closest town was Mojave, 80 miles away
by rough dirt road. Therefore, the town had to be completely self sufficient. That included entertainment
for the people living there. Music was often an important part of that entertainment. Visiting friends was
also important, especially for the few women living in the town.
Piano
Music could be important in the desert.
Living Room
Piano and Organ
The managers homes has a small room off to the side that could be used to entertain guests. This could be furnished with a piano or organ, much like are in the History House. Of course, there would also be chairs and a table in this living room.
